HSA Group, a Dubai-headquartered large multinational conglomerate, has launched an AI Lab as part of its wider digital transformation efforts to bring artificial intelligence into its businesses and turn potential use cases into measurable results.

The new lab will work with HSA’s businesses and functions to develop and scale these initiatives, with a focus on improving productivity, supporting decision-making and strengthening operations.

The group said the initiative follows an assessment of how AI could be applied across its operations. The assessment identified 229 potential opportunities, which were narrowed down to 38 priorities based on their expected impact and feasibility.

The company said the lab will concentrate on four areas including building AI skills across the workforce, using AI to automate processes, developing connected AI systems and exploring new businesses enabled by the technology.

Rather than having the Lab develop every AI project centrally, HSA said its individual businesses and functions will lead initiatives and the lab will provide technical expertise, governance and guidance on responsible AI use.

“The HSA AI Lab marks the next chapter in our transformation journey. We are combining HSA’s decades of experience, talent and resilience with AI to transform how we work, how we compete and how we grow,” said Mohamed Nabil Hayel Saeed Anam, Managing Director and Regional Chairman of HSA Group, Yemen.
